Initial Situation

  • At the University Hospital Bonn site, the use of a waste heat steam boiler downstream of three gas engines in CHP was planned to significantly increase the overall efficiency of the plant.
  • Due to extremely confined spaces, only a compact boiler design using structural tubes (ip-tube) was feasible.

An AHK-ip 3200/13 waste heat boiler with ip-tube structural tubes was designed, manufactured, and delivered, connected to three MWM gas engines (type TCG 2020V20). The scope of delivery includes bypass control dampers, complete boiler equipment, and control technology for 72 h BoB. SCHNEIDER also performed the complete installation, piping connection, and commissioning of the entire system on site.
