Initial Situation
- The customer operates steam generators for direct process steam supply as well as for independent power generation via a steam turbine.
- In the medium term, the energy supply was to be switched to sustainable sources – the decision was made for an electric steam generator.
- With the new electric steam boiler as a power-to-heat system, participation in the market for negative balancing energy was also to be enabled.
The Solution from SCHNEIDER-KESSEL BERLIN®
An HDO-E 4000/10 electric steam generator for the production of superheated steam was planned, manufactured, delivered, and commissioned. The heating capacity of 4.0 MWel is provided by four resistance heating elements of 1,000 kW each. The system, including all fittings as well as the control and switchgear, was designed for 72-hour unsupervised operation. The scope of delivery included installation and commissioning.
