Initial Situation
- A waste heat boiler for process cooling is required for a process engineering plant for the production of sulfuric acid.
- Due to the confined space conditions, the special synthesis gas, and the required steam parameters—high pressure at low output—an individual special boiler design was required.
The Solution from SCHNEIDER-KESSEL BERLIN®
A specially designed waste heat boiler of type AHK-ip (SB) 6200/51 was used, with a capacity of 6,200 kg/h at 51 bar. The hybrid boiler design with ip-tube structural tubes and a separate steam drum enabled natural circulation while also providing a space-saving design. The inlet chamber was lined with ceramic sleeves and refractory concrete, and the outlet chamber was manufactured in stainless steel. In addition, an internal water-cooled bypass control system was integrated.
