Electric auxiliary steam generator for keeping a combined-cycle power plant warm

Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH | Potsdam

Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH operates the Potsdam Süd CHP plant as a combined-cycle power plant (CCPP). To supply the plant during shutdown periods with keep-warm steam and sealing steam for the steam turbine bearing seals, a reliable electric auxiliary steam generator was required.

Project Highlights

1,100 kg/h auxiliary steam at 10 bar for combined-cycle power plant

Sealing steam for steam turbine bearing seals

72 h BoB – fully autonomous operation without on-site personnel

Initial Situation

  • An electric auxiliary steam generator was to be installed at the Potsdam Süd combined-cycle power plant to provide keep-warm steam during shutdown periods.
  • In addition, sealing steam was to be supplied for the steam turbine bearing seals.

The Solution from SCHNEIDER-KESSEL BERLIN®
