Water Tube Boiler for Public Power Supply

Public Power Supply | Rayong, Thailand

A public power utility in Thailand upgraded its natural gas-based CHP plant. The requirements included a high-performance water tube boiler with the lowest possible exhaust emissions, highest steam purity, and the ability to transport the complete system in one piece.

Project Highlights

55 t/h superheated steam at 58 bar / 430 °C

Lowest exhaust emissions under fluctuating operating conditions

Single-piece transport – compact design for confined spaces

Initial Situation

  • Upgrade of a natural gas H-based Combined Heat and Power plant.
  • Special requirements for the firing system to comply with the lowest exhaust emissions under highly fluctuating operating conditions.
  • The highest possible steam purity (>99.9%) and load change rates of 30% were mandatory.

The Solution from SCHNEIDER-KESSEL BERLIN®

A 55.0 t/h SCHNEIDER water tube boiler, type WRK 55000/58, with superheating to 430 °C, was planned, manufactured, delivered, and commissioned. The compact boiler design accounts for the confined space conditions on-site. The system was manufactured in one piece for overland transport. The Saacke firing system ensures the lowest emissions. The scope of delivery included installation and commissioning on-site in Thailand.
